E3 2010: Snake is in Metal Gear Solid: Rising

When you spend all day working in the enchanted land of the interwebs, you end up looking at a lot of screenshots. Most are from 7/10 games you’ll never buy in a month of sweltering Sundays. Others the product of accidental x-rated Google Image searches. But sometimes, you come across a little gem that reveals a gaming Easter egg of Fabergé value. Below, for Metal Gear fans at least, is one such shot.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Please observe, if you will, the rather rugged and utterly dreamy boxart for the megaton PSP stealth 'em up below. After you're finished getting lost in Naked Snake's eyes, let your peepers wander further down yonder page.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Now squint until said peepers start to go a bit funny looking at this Rising shot. Notice any familiar art masquerading as a makeshift poster. You do? Huzzah! You've just earned 14 La Li Lu Le Lo brownie points.

Above: OMFG, indeed

Can you think of any other Metal Gear Easter eggs that have tickled your fancy in the past? Why not reminisce about them in the comments section?

No, Snake can't be in this one. Remember, Raiden vanished without a trace from Snakes radar. So it wouldn't make sense to the rest of the story.

i mean in it. Whats up with spellings today???

Snake'll probably be a skin or something. He wont be in the game, but will probably be mentioned or referenced en it. ReCaptcha- was slashed, OMG it's getting damn sinister... ]:

    Damnit I spelled Damnit wrong!

is it just me or does raiden have a bad case or Dragon Ball hair?
  • FunkSoulBrother - June 17, 2010 6:58 p.m.

I think that he will be like Raiden in MGS 4 Snake will be somewhere between a minor and major character. We will care about him but who cares really?

I'm glad Raiden gets chopped up and mangled for the bait-and-switch that was MGS2... then again now he's an invincible cyberninja samurai soo... retri...bution?

i won't be surprised if we have an encounter with or possibly even get to play as solid snake in rising. From what i've heard the game is set in between mgs2 and mgs4.

Did you just ask for funny easter eggs from one of the most easter egg heavy series of all time? I couldn't issolate one if I tried.
  • Spacegrass - June 17, 2010 5:12 p.m.

It'll be awesome if you play as Raiden for the first mission, then spend the rest of the game playing as Snake.
  • theskitone - June 17, 2010 4:53 p.m.

u can only see one of Snakes eyes in the poster...
  • breener96 - June 17, 2010 4:31 p.m.

I'm a bit disapointed with Rising, was expecting a classic Metal Gear Solid game. I wonder if this action game will have those 40 min cutscenes.
