Think Jurassic Park is nerve-wracking? Cloning dinosaurs is nothing compared to digging up their bones, judging by Todd Douglas Miller’s mind-boggling doc about the discovery of ‘Sue,’ the largest T-Rex skeleton ever found. For its first act, the film shares the euphoria of the palaeontologists’ (pre-) historic haul – until they find themselves unwittingly targeted by the US government.
Mixing candid talking heads with scarcely believable video footage, Miller’s taut narrative shifts gears (black comedy, thriller, even a love story), but is mostly driven by outrage at the powers that be.
