DICE working on 'other secret projects'

DICE, the EA-owned studio best known for the Battlefield series, is working on "other secret projects," according to General Manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson.

"We do have other secret projects that I can't talk about right now," said Troedsson during a studio tour with GameInformer. Obviously, he didn't elaborate further. If he'd said "that I can talk about right now," we'd probably all have a bunch of exciting news to mull over, but we don't. We do have speculation, though!

DICE's next major release is Battlefield 3 - another helping of its war FPS bread and butter - but it's also known for the 2008 cult-hit Mirror's Edge, the multiplayer portion of last year's Medal of Honor reboot, and its collaboration with Criterion Games on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

The rumors surrounding the possibility of a Mirror's Edge sequel seem to suggest that the game is neither in development nor off the table, but we doubt that it has solidified enough to be one of the studio's current 'secret projects.' Last week's announcement that a Medal of Honor sequel is underway, however, could mean that DICE is pitching in on another round of MoH multiplayer.

Aside from that, we have no idea. Another Bad Company, perhaps? New DLC? What do you think the studio is, or should be, up to?
