DICE almost turned Star Wars Battlefront down because it was fully booked

With its open Beta set to kick off across all platforms on 8 October (with it arriving a cheeky five days earlier on Xbox One), Star Wars Battlefront couldn't get any more hype. But it turns out the things could have been very different had Battlefield developer DICE chosen to turn it down... In the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, studio general manager Patrick Bach reveals the Swedish team almost had to say no due to a jam-packed schedule with other projects.

"Disney came to EA looking for a partner to make games and suggested, 'Maybe DICE should make a Battlefront game'," he says. "On our side, we had this opportunity but were fully booked with other work and thought, ‘Argh, we can’t do that!’ But then the heart kicks in, says ‘we will figure it out,’ and we figured it out. Because you can’t say no to a project like that."
