I loved the first one, it was my type of dark broodingness (is that a word? lol) I did feel how ever that the darkness powers in the first were naff, the best part was the very end and then it was a cinematic. Bring on the darkness i've waited along time for this

I really liked the first one, and the story was pretty awesome. I'm glad to see that this one looks way better and those Darkness fatalities are amazing.

I remember when I first got The Darkness... a few months ago. While the gameplay lacked, as I've read numerous times, the story single-handedly blew me away. It was emotional, compelling, dark (of course), and reeked of comic book talent. It was a gem that never got a chance to grow. Until now, of course, and I'm super, super stoked to play this game! I've got a little too much SWTOR to catch up on, but The Darkness II is looking to become a favorite game of mine, fantastic art style and all.

The art style is nice, but this being a sequel I wish it retained the art atyle of the original. The graphics were great at the the time The Darkness came out, and it should've continued with that dark realistic look. Had this been the first game I'd be more enthusiastic about the comic book look, since this story did originate as a comic book. Also miss Kirk Acevedo voicing Jackie.

Love the art style and I'm so glad Mike Patton came back as the Darkness. Such an awesome voice; the game better be good because I don't want to find out that I will buy something for sixty dollars just to hear one of my favorite evil characters talk to me as Jackie. What I saw looked solid from a gameplay perspective. Hope they made sure to nail the characters and atmosphere that made the first game special.

I liked that demo a lot. The story seems very interesting, and so does tearing bad guys up with the darkness. Only things I disliked were the "experience points" (would've been better if kills just filled up a meter. This isn't CoD multiplayer), and there was a hell of a lot of bad guys there, with absolutely no cops around and just all around "sameness". I can see the shooting mechanics getting a bit stale, like they did in Uncharted 3. Still, this is just the first couple of minutes, so hopefully things slow down at some point and the enemies get more varied.

Shooting mechanics becoming stale? That's not fair, since every shooter (or hack-n-slash, RPG, RTS, etc.) have the "same controls" throughout the game. And I don't know if you saw, but there are over two dozen talents to unlock. I don't foresee the any staleness from any part of the gameplay.

Graphics look like some kind of hybrid between Borderlands and XIII. I kinda like it.
