Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - Developer walkthrough

Prepare to die even more, because the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is coming to PC later this month with new locations, enemies, and bosses to get frustrated over. The additional content takes you back through time, where you'll get the chance to fight the Knight Artorias, a character who is mentioned but never shown in the original console release. Get all the details on the new content as we walk through the new Royal Wood forest location, battle a boss, and explore a monster-infested town in the video below.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will be available August 24 for digital download on PC, while the additional content will be released as DLC for consoles later this year.

I was really looking forward to this, but unfortunately the publisher has decided to charge 69.99 USD in New Zealand, which is $30 outside of my price range. Unless I go without food for a week...

That sucks, friend. My suggestion would be to get a friend on steam who lives in another country to buy the game for you for the regular price, then reimburse them for that. I have bought my US friend games from the UK steam store that were cheaper, so im sure it'll work for you.

Yeah, I think I'll have to ask one of my mates to help me out with that. Great advice.

That mouse cursor was positioned right next to his hotkeys the ENTIRE TIME and it drove me crazy. The game looks good, but I wish they had someone who knew more about Dark Souls asking him questions. No offense, Lorenzo!

It will come out. Either way though, you should restart with a new character or start a new game+. =]

The title should read "Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition confirms 1v1 and 2v2 PvP Arenas!" Listen to the last couple mins of video omg awesome!

This looks brilliant! cant wait! :) on a side note, it puzzles me how someone who knows so much about the game, plays it almost like hes uncertain what hes doing:/

I'll wait for PS3 DLC. Funny video, he's using one of the more useless weapons in the game - this sword can cast TWOP, but otherwise it's a piece of shit. From what I've seen, for veteran SL around 300 or so with actually good weapons or crystal magic Artorias will be a 3 minute battle. Plus, lol, divine blessing. Item so rare and so OP you'll likely get a couple per playthrough. And they added like 50.

you do realize that this was debug mode with a premade character? paying attention goes a long way
  • lord quaz 420 - August 15, 2012 2:10 p.m.

Yea this guy only thinks of himself. that premade character was just to show the fans the content, nothing more nothing less. (sidenote: my lvl 500 would pwn artorias in 30 seconds :D haha)
