Borderland 2's Lilith actress revealed

Gearbox's casting call for a real-life Lilith attracted a ton of cosplay hopefuls, but in the end only one was selected to play the unrealistically proportioned heroine for the live-action scenes in Borderlands 2. Her name is Yasemin Arsal, and thanks to this clip from X-Play, you can watch her get ready for her video game close-up:

Yasemin was selected by Gearbox from a pool of thousands of applicants. And judging by the video, the studio is happy with their selection.

“It was kind of uncanny with some of the still shots we set up for this where, wow, she's Lilith,” said Gearbox head Randy Pitchford, recalling, “We did our first test shoot with her, and there was a moment with her when we asked her to express sadness. Just like that she really just nailed me with it, and I couldn't believe how quickly one can get there.”

“She's such a strong, confident badass character, and just to have the opportunity to play that makes you feel good,” Arsal added.

The Australian model isn't the only actress who will feature in Gearbox's sequel. As the behind-the-scenes video reveals, Britanni Johnson will also be reprising her role as the mysterious Guardian Angel.

All will be revealed when Borderlands 2 releases for PS3, Xboc 360, and PC later this year (or maybe next?)

To tell you the truth, I thought the guardian angel was computer generated.

OMFG AUSTRALIAN ACCENT SO HAWT. So, there are going to be TWO annoying Cortana pop-ups this time...!? As much as I love seeing stuff like this announced, what I REALLY want is to see the other classes revealed D: Plus, if #2 is set, like, 200 years after the first, wouldn't 'Lee-Lith', as she calls her, be really old and wrinkly?

As good as Borderlands was, the story was really really bad. Not nearly as bad as Dead Island but still pretty bad. The Guardian Angel was one of the worst parts.

I agree, but the co-op definitely balences that out. The story doesn't need to be great when you're playing the game through with friends, but it never hurts to have a good story.

Why does this game need live-action sequences again? The story in the first one was second to the gameplay, so why they're spending extra resources on something 95% of the players will skip over seems dumb to me. They should be taking those resources and finding ways to make the game not get stale after 2 playthroughs, or maybe lower the price of the 10 DLCS they probably have planned for it, and will have finished before the game releases. After the the first game, I'll definitely be waiting for a GOTY edition in order to save $100.

I didn't know the guardian angel returning would be that big of a deal. her role in the first borderlands was kind of inconsequential to me.
