Beyond The Edge review

Everest is the most famous mountain the world – but can you picture it? This engrossing drama-doc takes us deep into the first expedition to conquer it, using superbly realised reconstructions, real interviews, VFX and swashbuckling location shooting to convey just how bloody difficult it was.

It may not have the jeopardy of Touching The Void , but when Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary finally reach the summit, we’re treated to an early candidate for one of 2014’s most transcendent film moments. This is genuinely inspirational stuff, and then some.
