Dead Head Fred

Publisher: D3Publisher
Developer: Vicious Cycle
Release Date: Spring 2007

With its amnesiac-headless-zombie-private-eye-brawling-through-a-freak-town premise, Dead Head Fred made a mark as one of the most interesting games (for PSP or otherwise) at E3. Its Metroid-like progression - based around opening up new areas as its hero gains powers from his enemies' heads -looks like fun, and the developers seem to have finally figured out how to deal with the problem of finicky 3D cameras on the PSP. Seeing this much gameplay depth on a PSP game is unusual, so we're really looking forward to seeing how Dead Head Fred shapes up. To find out what we know so far, check out ourpreview.

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
