Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix
Release Date:TBA

Anybody who's played Final Fantasy VII - and that's a lot of you - has to wonder exactly what pushed Sephiroth over the edge. Certainly, being injected with the cells of a bizarre space creature bent on destroying the planet didn't help, but it takes a little more than that to break a man - Cloud made it through OK, after all. Well, this game should tell those secrets, and reveal more details about Cloud and Zack - including that past together only hinted at in flashbacks during the original adventure.

From what we've seen, the graphics are the stunning, top-notch stuff that you'd expect from Square Enix, which leads to a shoo-in for a "best trailer" nomination. But we still have questions about the gameplay, simply because we saw none of it. We're primed, though, for an adventure that tells the story before Final Fantasy VII, and looks to do it with a lot more coherence than Advent Children told the tale of what happened after. To learn more, give ourpreview a look-see.
