Some of you out there are early adopters, and have likely picked up the new iPhone 5 and are dying to find out what games to play on it. Well, that's why we're here. To tell you what's worth your money and your time. Here are 10 recent games that you should not miss!

US: $6.99 / UK: £4.99
Platform: Universal

Square Enix takes its fair share of flak for gargantuan App Store prices, but Demons' Score amazingly takes the cake by a wide margin. Sure, the initial download is $6.99--a pittance compared to some of the publisher's games--but you're essentially paying for a demo, as just a couple stages are available. All of the others are sold individually within, and the grand total shakes out to something like $40. It's ludicrous. Don't buy it.

But in the unlikely situation that you have a chance to play it on a friend's phone, or Square Enix comes to its senses? Do that! It's a screen-tapping rhythm game from the makers of Elite Beat Agents featuring heavily theatrical tunes and ludicrous dancing monsters and teddy bears. It's perfect for the iPhone and totally entertaining, and yet the deceptive and unfriendly pricing model utterly destroys the game. Don't be surprised if it ends up on Vita or 3DS, however, and probably in a much more reasonable package to boot.

Infinity Blade has gone from a smash hit iPhone game to its own genre on Apple's devices, providing the template for a wide variety of titles. Some use Epic and Chair's game as a jumping-off point to explore their own distinct ideas. Avengers Initiative, on the other hand, doesn't dream all that big, as it's seemingly content to being a very good-looking and well-produced facsimile of the source material.

We're not praising that approach, but damn it does feel good to let out a Hulk Smash on your commute. Though nearly identical in execution, with swipes and taps used to punch and block in up-close battles, Avengers Initiative does deliver a healthy dose of comic fan service, with mix-and-match costumes and some iconic villains amidst the generic baddies. And hints of other heroes becoming playable in future updates could give this tie-in some serious legs.

If you think Blood Roofs' title sounds extraordinarily goofy, just wait 'til you actually see the game in motion. You're running along rooftops in some Eastern European-looking environment, blasting gargantuan monsters as you vault from building to building. It looks pretty slick--though by "slick," we actually mean everything seems incredibly shiny. Even Perfect Dark Zero thinks Blood Roofs could tone down the shininess.

Despite the slightly overdone (and over-serious) aesthetic, we keep coming back to Blood Roofs. Something about blending Temple Run-esque behind-the-back running with manual firearm action and ridiculous creatures has us leaping for our virtual lives on a regular basis here. And it's already extended out for the iPhone 5's screen, so you won't have to put up with black borders as you sprint across bricks and shingles.

Rovio's Bad Piggies--the first Angry Birds-associated entry to ditch the slingshot mechanic--launched right as we were putting the final touches on this article, so we haven't quite seen the full extent of the experience. Aside from the familiar green swine and an emphasis on trial and error, the game varies wildly from its franchise roots. Instead of bashing through wooden structures, you're building them here, and then guiding the once-hated pigs to safety.

Admittedly, the same kind of magnetic pull that had us sinking hours and hours in Angry Birds isn't there, at least not yet. Constructing little vehicles and contraptions to push the pigs towards the goal has a nicely inventive touch to it, but you'll have to wade through a slow start to access the more interesting scenarios. And the lack of iPhone 5 support for a post-launch game this big is laughable. But we're pulling some enjoyment from the game so far, and it'll undoubtedly be expanded out further in the coming months.

The new iOS version of Street Fighter X Tekken isn't exactly comparable to the console or even PlayStation Vita versions, but at $4.99 (currently $2.99), that'd be a silly expectation to have in the first place. Scaled down to match the dimensions of the device and scope of the App Store, you'll initially get 10 fighters and a handful of environments, but considering that it's a touch screen fighter, the results are actually rather solid.

As usual, you'll pick a pair of combatants from between the Street Fighter and Tekken faithful, with a virtual joystick and buttons to tap in commands. Like most touch screen battlers, precision is hardly a selling point; even if you know the moves, tapping them in can be a struggle. But as an attractive, pocket-friendly fighter available to fill a few minutes in your day--with online battles, to boot--Street Fighter X Tekken does the trick.

US: $2.99 / UK: £1.99

The original Time Geeks!: Find All transformed an expectedly drab concept (Where's Waldo-esque hidden image finds) into a charming iOS experience thanks to clever gameplay twists, as well as gorgeous pixel art montages filled with pop culture references to everything from Lost to Ghostbusters and The Legend of Zelda. But it was strictly an offline experience, albeit one that's fun to play with a nearby friend.

Time Geeks & Friends Premium takes everything that rocked about the original and turns it into an asynchronous multiplayer game, letting you battle it out against online foes in item-finding competition. It's the same kind of turn-based approach we've seen in other iOS games, but it proves a perfect fit for this sort of game, thanks to tight timers and a myriad of power-ups. Like the recent Little Things Forever, it helps make hidden image puzzles seem alarmingly cool.

US: $2.99 / UK: £1.99
Platform: Universal

Built with the same kind of learning curve as Super Crate Box, Super Hexagon seems absurdly difficult at first; in fact, Hard is the default challenge setting. After a few rounds, though, it… well, it still seems pretty impossible for a while. It's a game of reflexes, where you'll move a little triangle left and right to avoid the maze-like hexagons closing in around it, and most newcomers are lucky to last five seconds.

We're still pretty terrible at it, but it pinpoints the same kind of appeal as Crate Box, with those little victories--lasting several more seconds, for example--only motivating you to dig in harder and up your game. Multiple excruciatingly harder modes are also included, plus there's apparently an ending in there somewhere. It'll take incredibly patience and tenacity to see that roll across the screen, but hey, we've got faith in you.

Adult Swim's Monsters Ate My Condo was such an oddball treat last year, offering up a color-matching puzzler that felt as fresh as it looked, with a faux-Japanese neon aesthetic and crazy, giant monsters. Super Monsters Ate My Condo isn't so much an overhaul of the formula as a revised way of playing it; now you have just two minutes to amass a high score, and new goals and power-ups let you figure out how best to expend that limited time.

As ever, the goal here is to yank colored condos from the wobbling tower, trying to match three of a kind to generate metallic and diamond floors that lead to high scores, or can be fed to the monsters on either side to trigger power-ups. It's a game of speed, strategy, and balance, and the over-the-top presentation is still a winner here. Plus, the larger towers on the iPhone 5 screen make it even easier to play. Optimization for the win!

Apple sure knows how to pick 'em. Anytime the company shows off one of its fancy new iOS devices, it always picks some show-stoppingly gorgeous new title that ultimately ends up being a great game in its own right, and Lili is just that. It's easily one of the prettiest games we've ever played on a touch screen, but unlike most, it's not an ultra-serious, violent brawler or shooter. It's about a young girl picking flowers.

Granted, she's yanking those flowers from the backs of weird stone creatures as they try to shake her off, but all the same, both the hero and mechanics happily vary from the usual big-budget iOS affairs. And it's a stunner for sure, looking damn near like a CG movie in motion with a gorgeous soundtrack and eccentric dialogue. Solid touch screen controls make for a pleasant play experience, but it's the personality and style that really sell this iPhone original.

US: $2.99 / UK: £1.99 Platform: Universal

Rayman Jungle Rush is an ideal example of how studios should translate traditional AAA experiences to mobile while retaining worth, giving us the production values we expect from the source material, and offering a great price. Spawned from last year's excellent Rayman Origins, Jungle Rush translates that platformer into an auto-runner, though instead of an endless grind, you get challenging missions to conquer.

It's built from the same engine as the gorgeous hand-drawn console affair, so it looks beautiful in motion, plus it introduces its core mechanics--like jumping, gliding, and wall-running--steadily enough to not overwhelm, even if the trial-and-error approach to the stages can frustrate on occasion. It's not a hugely long game, but at $2.99 for a compact and perfectly adapted iOS take on a modern console classic, Jungle Rush fails to disappoint.
