The Wii is garbage and everyone knows it. And as far as that Ipad quote, consider it sarcasm. It was a blow to Nintendo for having made such a terrible home console. Nintendo can only keep making the exact same games (Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Smash Bros, Mario Kart) for so long. The ONLY decent games on Wii are first party titles, and as a fan of Nintendo for 25 years now, I would sure like to finally see something different. It's a shame they prevail while Sega failed.

Your lack of intelligence is highlighted by your oppressive ignorance sir. There is literally so many things wrong with your post that it actually hurts me head a little. From apparent immaturity, to blatantly false statements, to a level of pretentiousness that may be fatal. You're the worst kind of gamer.
  • Charlie_Fubar - April 18, 2012 4:30 a.m.

I agree with fanfuddy. Have every nintendo system and games going back to NES - Except a WII. My daughter got a WII and Ive never seen her play it once. Even kids would rather play Xbox and Ps3. Its their yuppie parents misguided purchasing that keeps nintendo on the map.
  • KnowYourPokemon - April 18, 2012 8:51 a.m.

Kids would rather play XBox and PS3 due to one simple thing, the fact that they're extremely easy to market towards. "Oh hey kids the PS3 and 360 have explosions and cool graphics that make you go 'oooh shiny!' And if you don't play our consoles? Well then you're not one of the cool kids!" And thus, their little minds actually think that to be the case. Quite a few of them grow up without ever learning the difference too, and thus the fabois are born.

While I don't like the wii, he really dropped the ball with his last comment >>; Anyway, not about to condemn someone's unfortunate words just yet. If their product can deliver something great, then i can perfectly forgive them for it *shrugs* Worse things have been said.
  • Fox_Mulder - April 17, 2012 9:31 p.m.

Wow owned Ninty! I don't really really dig the Wii or Wii U, but calling it a toy is just a low blow. However, he does speak some truth. I propose that all devs boycott the Wii brand until Ninty starts on the fast track to reproduce the glory days.
  • RedHarlow - April 17, 2012 9:22 p.m.

Good for them to speak their mind. It's largely true, Nintendo really needs to step up to the plate and truly launch into the next generation with some new hardware and new IPs.
  • LordHyper - April 17, 2012 8:09 p.m.

Though they bring up good points, I thought their comments on the Wii was unprofessional.
  • slimjim441 - April 17, 2012 8:01 p.m.

Do you think maybe MDK2 didn't sell well possibly because it was a mediocre game? Maybe he should stop blaming the console and blame himself for throwing a game onto WiiWare (the worst online game store) that doesn't belong. People who buy a Wii don't want HurrDurr's Gate, they want Zelda, Mario, Metriod, and so on. No one else's games are going to sell as well as N's core franchises. Get over it. Methinks this article should've been saved for Week of Hate. XP
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 8:13 p.m.

Talk down to the guy as much as you want, but did you really just talk crap about Baldur's Gate? BG is widely recognized as one of the greatest games of all time. If you've ever played and enjoyed a WRPG, I guarantee you that BG had at least some influence on it.
  • slimjim441 - April 17, 2012 10:05 p.m.

I did not talk crap about Baldur's Gate. I had a brain fart and couldn't remember the name, but was too lazy to scroll up to check. Also kinda drives homes the point of people who like Wii for the games it's supposed to have and don't care too much about games on the console that belong on other consoles (no matter how good or bad they may be).
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 7:58 p.m.

To the people quoting the whole "real console like an iPad," you do realize that was GamesRadar being facetious and not his words, right? If you spent a lot of money to produce a product and got burned, you wouldn't be a fan of said burner (in this case, Nintendo), either. That's what bugs me about gamers these days. It's almost like it's become politics. A developer says something bad about a company gamers like, and they swear to never buy another game. Whatever happened to buying products that are quality? Why are people suddenly loyal to a corporation? You make it sound like he called your grandmother a whore.
  • shawksta - April 17, 2012 8:22 p.m.

When people say that, its an over exaggeration to lose respect for them. Also, its not GR, other sites have the same quote, but people are overexaggerating despite HIM overexaggerating also.
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 8:27 p.m.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a knock against GR. It just looked like people were ignoring the fact that that part came after the quotation marks. When did Wii U ever get in the picture, anyways? Wasn't this always just PC and mobile devices?
  • shawksta - April 17, 2012 9:03 p.m.

Plain and simple, the guy made a game for Wiiware(Horrible choice), he had allot of delay, but that was because Nintendo kept sending it back to him because of allot of bugs and such. Eventually, the game didnt sell well and now he's blaming it on Nintendo for nothing. He brought this whole affair up when someone asked him if he was gonna be developing anything for Wii U.
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 9:31 p.m.

So, in other words, a whole bunch of controversy over nothing? There will be no hard copies no matter the system, so to come out on WiiU, it has to be downloadable, which he doesn't want to deal with again after a bad experience with Nintendo. In other words, it's like asking Blizzard if they want to put Starcraft on consoles again after the disaster that was Starcraft 64. Also, don't think I'm talking crap about the Wii. I played the crap out of both Galaxies, No More Heroes, the Prime trilogy, etc. (never had the time to beat the Zelda's, so I didn't bother listing them). I just don't understand why people get mad when someone doesn't want to develop for a certain system. I will concede that the "toy" comment was uncalled for, though.
  • shawksta - April 18, 2012 3:27 p.m.

Exactly, and what do you mean? Nobody got mad at him not wanting to develop for it, its his overexagerrated bash against Nintendo.
  • ncurry2 - April 18, 2012 6:40 a.m.

It's not necessarily loyalty to a corporation; for me it's loyalty to the medium. I feel like I bring this up in forums every other day. The Wii has some extremely spectacular games (as you can attest) and yet a majority of the most "hardcore gamers" won't ever touch them simply because the Wii has such a bad rep. If they really are fans of the medium and they want to experience the best that it has to offer, they have to play some of the games that the Wii has. Having a professional talk like this doesn't help anybody. It shows his frustrations and nothing else. I'm not saying being a video game connoisseur is everybody's cup of tea and they'd rather just bicker about which console is better. But I would say that a majority of the people who come on here and bash Nintendo to hell would legitimately enjoy a lot of the games the Wii has to offer and make them a more well-rounded gamer if they'd only give it a shot.
  • FOZ - April 17, 2012 7:54 p.m.

Super Mario Galaxy was a terrible game. You buy Wii Sports and nothing else.
  • Squirrel - April 18, 2012 12:45 a.m.

Oh I know!! And how bad is Skyward Sword and Xenoblade?! Man Im so sorry that I bought over 40 Wii games. Those great review scores tricked me!
  • shawksta - April 17, 2012 7:36 p.m.

Nice to hear his honest ”Opinions”, but putting it on Wiiware was his first mistake.(Only for a select game, Wiiwares horrible) Second, its only his to blame, Its not that Nintendo is being ”Pricks to 3rd parties” but that 3rd parties just dont know how to use the Wii's potential. Only a select few 3rd parties have use the Wii excellently, while Nintendo are praticly the best at making use of the hardware. His opinion would be more respectful if he didnt pull insults like that. The Wii U is promised to be more open to 3rd Parties, and it has and many stated. Its hugely understandable why he doesnt want to work with Nintendo again(despite it being his fault), but hopefully he'll give them another chance, especially with the Wii U's potential.
  • BladedFalcon - April 17, 2012 9:31 p.m.

Wrong, Nintendo has a very well documented history of being assholes to 3rd Party developers. Always. Difference these days is that not many are as willing to put up with their shit as they were in the past. Also, Nintendo made the same promise to be more open to 3rd parties with the 3DS, and more than a year has passed. And aside from a few games like RE: Revelations, most of the worthwhile games both released and announced still belong to Nintendo.
  • Squirrel - April 18, 2012 1:08 a.m.

Actually you're wrong. Show all this documentation of Nintendo being "assholes to 3rd party developers". It's very true that Nintendo is somewhat strict with it's Wiiware service, but they make the rules and 3rd parties dont have to play if they dont want to. The 3DS has already received several great 3rd party games, especially on the eShop. Project X Zone literally shows three 3rd parties working together for one exclusive Nintendo game. I bet Namco Bandai, Sega, and Capcom disagree with you. Ask Gearbox what they think about Nintendo and the Wii U. Level-5 seems to love Nintendo systems, as does Ubisoft. What about smaller developers? Talk to Renegade Kid, 5th Cell, or Camelot. They all do they're best work on Nintendo consoles. It's all subjective to the developer and the specific person as to how they feel. So its ignorant to paint the whole of the industry with one person's opinion.
