Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel gameplay shown in new trailer

Last week saw the official announcement of Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel as it graced the cover of Game Informer magazine, but today will be the first time we actually get to see the game in motion. Straight from Gamescom 2012, EA has just released our first look at the upcoming co-op shooter.

The trailer also adds that Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel will be adding to an already stacked first quarter of 2013 which will also have Lost Planet 3Dead Space 3Aliens: Colonial MarinesBioshock InfiniteTomb Raider, and God of War: Ascension all between February and March. Plus whatever else ends up getting delayed out of 2012 over the next few months. Yikes.

I know it's been said this is a reboot... but I noticed they mentioned T.W.O. (Trans-World Operations founded by Salem and Rios) in the trailor. Maybe it's more of an extension of the world the game inhabits. How much do you want to make a bet Salem and Rios makes a cameo in the new game? Even if it's to pass the torch by getting offed...

I'm gonna miss the characters a lot, but I might still give it a go. Some of the shots, especially the destruction-y ones, give me the impression that it's gonna play a lot more like Just Cause 2 than the previous games did, which is a pity. I seem to remember the last game having a somewhat unique art style, and I hope that's something that returns.

I really liked Army of Two 1 + 2 but since they are just rebooting this and getting rid of charcters from the first two games I'm not really interested in this one.
