Alan Wake's American Nightmare stumbles into the light with new trailer

Alan Wake was a long time coming, and while the 360-exclusive didn’t pay off on all its potential, after playing the two DLC episodes that finished the first game’s story, we still wanted to see where the series was going. It turns out Remedy’s adventure will continue in the XBLA-exclusive American Nightmare. But if you watch the trailer, you’ll notice  this downloadable looks like a “real” game. See for yourself…

Picking up on threads left over from the first game, Alan is out to find Mr. Scratch, his evil doppelganger. Taking place in Arizona and promising fewer places to hide, the combat, dodging and gunplay looks to follow the same light vs dark style of the original. Hopefully we’ll have some more info on the title soon, but this game looks like it takes XBLA titles to new heights.

Huge fan of Alan Wake. I find it hard to believe that this is XBLA only, but who cares!? IT'S MORE FREAKING ALAN WAKE! That is all.

Even if it is download only, if it's anything like the DLC for the first game, then I am definitely looking forward to it. I just hope it's lengthy, and not just a 3-4 hour romp for $15-20. It's just sad that they weren't able to make a full length sequel because of the sales/reception of the first one.

Really sad that its not a full blown title shame people didnt give it the attention it deserves the first game was fantastic.

I'm looking forward to this. I really enjoyed the first one(dlc included). I just hope it's not a short game. Who knows? Maybe it this one does really well they'll make the next one on a disc again. Probably not though. :(
