A Haunted House review

Like a screen psycho that will not die, Wayans-sired horror spoofs just keep coming.

Seven weeks after the release of Scary Movie 5 we have A Haunted House , a faithful but rarely amusing take on Paranormal Activity (and, when they exhaust found footage/reality TV, The Exorcist ).

Marlon Wayans (who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Alvarez) stars as plushie-lover Malcolm, who’s dismayed to find that cohabiting with girlfriend Kisha (a very game Essence Atkins) is not the bunga-bunga party he’d hoped for.

Seems she’s unwittingly brought a demon into the house, and it’s disrupting the couple’s sex life.

The moments where you feel the cast are off-script and riffing are fun if not actually funny, but the most horrific thing on offer here is misogyny.
