For everyone who thinks the resolution is the same and the games are going to look worse, read the article. Of course the resolution is going to upgrade. Its a bigger screen. Look at the screenshot of Mario. The article is saying the graphics THEMSELVES wont get any better. It'll still look the same, except bigger. I dont own a 3DS yet. I also live in the states, so I do get a free adapter with mine. I might pick this up. The lack of a second stick doesnt phase me as most 3DS games dont need a second stick, they use the touchscreen.

Looks good but I'll wait for the price to drop. I'm in no rush to play their games. I will eventually.

I knew they would make me regret buying one at launch somehow. And here it is... maybe if I can trade mine in for like $100 I will get this. By the way: This new comment section is complete junk.

You say in the blurb that there was a "torrent" of info released by Nintendo. Any idea when we'll get to see the rest of that?

No adapter! Nintendo you so crazy!

Is anyone really stupid enough to buy this?
  • talleyXIV - June 24, 2012 1:56 p.m.

What is so stupid about it? If you want a great new portable console and haven't gotten a Vita or 3DS this seems to be the best choice... Why is it a bad choice?

If I understand this right, it upscales images without upscaling the resolution. Wouldn't that make games look worse? I'll stick with my Aqua Blue 3DS.

You understood wrong. It does upscale the resolution. It just doesnt make the graphics BETTER. You still a clear picture, it'll just be bigger.

The lack of a second stick is still incredibly frustrating to me. I'm still not jumping on board with the 3DS.

    Score: VITA- 1 3ds- 0

My only complaint about the 3DS design is its analogue stick. Definitely an improvement actually having an analogue stick, but the problem with it is that is not sweaty hands proof. That thing turns into a wet fish after a couple of minutes and the grip goes to hell. I really hoped they would make it better, by losing the smooth plastic feel and making its surface "grippier", like the xbox sticks. Well, sadly I was wrong assuming they would perfect it in a next redesign. =/

Without a major hardware change, I will stick with my original 3ds.

Wow, retarded. How can you release a 2.0 version and not drop the price? AND where the hell is the second thumbstick?
  • metroid2099400 - June 23, 2012 6:54 a.m.

I'm not really fond of bigger handhelds, I like something that I can just put in my pocket or bag easily. I've also already bought a 3DS, so there's not much point in getting this "upgrade", since there's no increased resolution, so things will actually look better on the smaller screen. The one thing that does really tempt me, though, is the increased battery life. I guess I'm a sucker for matte finishes, too...

They're not really just assuming 3DS XL buyers will already have a 3DS -- they've assuming they'll have a 3DS, or a DSi, or DSi XL, as they all came with the same AC adapter.
  • marius-valasinas - June 23, 2012 3:26 a.m.

Ninty probably doesn't realize that most 3DS XL buyers will be new to 3DS. I'll simply sell mine before getting XL one, but it's so stupid not to include AC adapter.. They should not include charging dock due to few of 3DS owners using those, but not AC one. Damn, Nintendo is just weird sometimes.
