If you were planning on transferring your DSiWare titles and buying classic Game Boy games for your 3DS on launch day, you'd better put those plans on hold. During Nintendo's quarterly earnings call, company president Satoru Iwata said that there will be a very important update to the 3DS in late May.
The update will include the system's "eShop," which will add a Virtual Console that offers classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles - many of which have not been resurrected since their original releases more than a decade ago. The eShop also promises game trailers and 3D videos.
The update will also allow DSi owners will be able to transfer their downloaded games to the 3DS, though details about how exactly that will happen are still not perfectly clear. And finally, it will bring an Internet browser to the 3DS.
