Do you want to go to film school? Think you know what makes a great British comedy? Ever feel like doing a bit more with your phone camera than trying to shoot the cat jumping off the sofa in slow-motion? If you answered 'Yes!', 'Of course!', and 'I've never actually tried that…', you could be in with a chance of winning a £10,000 voucher to spend on courses at London's prestigious Met Film School.
To take part, all you have to do is make a 6-second Vine video that captures the essence of British comedy. Whether it's slapstick, farce, satire or an elaborate reconstruction of Four Weddings And A Funeral, it can be anything you like as long as it only lasts 6 seconds (which probably rules out the last one…).
Based at Ealing Studios, the home of classics like Passport To Pimlico, The Ladykillers and The Lavender Hill Mob, Met Film School is right at the heart of British comedy. But do we still make the funniest movies around? Do we even have a comedy essence to capture anymore? Is the American Office better than the British one? Whatever the answer is, say it with a Vine and you could be on your way to Met – with courses ranging from short classes in scriptwriting to full-time degree programmes in Practical Filmmaking.*
All you have to do to enter is post your video on Vine with the hashtag #MetComedyChallenge and fill out this form. Entries will be open throughout March, and will close after 11:59pm on Tuesday 31st. The videos will be judged by the Met's panel of experts and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 22nd April at Ealing Studios.
Good luck!
*Terms and conditions apply; use of voucher on Bachelors and Masters courses is dependent upon meeting specific course requirements. Please see the website for full details.
