You might think that 2016 is the year of the monkey. Nope! It's the year of the zombie, or at least it is for Capcom, which is celebrating 20 years of Resident Evil. As part of the anniversary festivities, the company has produced this behind-the-scenes retrospective with Resident Evil 0 director Koji Oda.
For example, Oda talks about scrapped plans for letting the player control a monster. Who wouldn't want to switch roles and squash some puny member of the RCPD? The team ended up going with Wesker Mode instead, letting you dash around and super-punch any undead abominations that got in your way.
Oda's interview is the second in a series of Capcom videos surrounding the Resident Evil 20th anniversary. And while these sorts of glimpses behind the curtain are always nice, I can't help but feel a bit hungry for another proper RE game. If ever there was a year to announce such a project, it'd be this one. You listening, Capcom?
