Premium Rush , the high-speed BMX thriller (don’t get to write that sentence nearly enough) has released a new trailer online featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt cycling for his life through the hectic streets of Manhattan.
JGL stars as a bicycle courier getting on with his day to day business, when Michael Shannon’s frazzled suit stops him and demands to retrieve a package. However, as Gordon-Levitt helpfully points out, “once it goes in the bag, it’s got to stay in the bag.”
However, Shannon isn’t a man to be denied and it isn’t long before all hell has broken loose, and JGL is having to pull out every BMX trick in his locker to stay alive.

To be honest, while the premise might sound a little naff (push-bikes don’t exactly scream adrenaline), the chase footage looks genuinely hair-raising, as Gordon-Levitt weaves through traffic like a man possessed. Whether or not that excitement can be sustained across a whole movie is another matter, but it certainly looks an encouraging start.
