Gareth Evans talks The Raid at Kapow! Comic Convention

Total Film has been hanging out at Kapow! Comic Convention this weekend.

Well, we've been more than hanging out: we've been occupying our own stage, shared with our sister titles SFX and Comic Heroes .

Among the highlights of our weekend was the chat we had with The Raid director Gareth Evans.

If you haven't yet seen The Raid , we urge you to drop what you're doing and sprint to your nearest multiplex to catch it (after you've finished reading this article, that is).

Below, TF 's resident Welshman Richard Jordan chats on-stage with Welsh ex-pat Evans, who talks openly about the practicalities of making the Indonesian action flick.

A charming, laid-back and modest bloke, Evans is sure to be an inspiration to everyone who has dreamt of making their own film that could put the Hollywood big boys to shame, but never thought it'd be possible.

For Evans' insight on everything from The Raid sequel, star Iko Uwais, the superbly cinematic martial art silat, and his favourite action heroes, check out the interview below:

The Raid is out now.
