Summit Entertainment has released a first trailer for upcoming thriller Gone , in which Amanda Seyfried faces a frantic race against time to track down her missing sister.

Seyfried plays Jill, a troubled young woman haunted by memories of the man who kidnapped and tried to kill her two years previously. When she arrives home one night to find her little sister missing, Jill is convinced that the same creep is responsible and makes a bee-line for the nearest cop-shop.

Sadly for her, the authorities are having none of it, not least because this supposed boogeyman was never picked up first time around. So believing her sister only has hours to live, Seyfried tools up and sets out to find justice for herself.

Take a look at the first trailer below…

It’s a neat little set-up, and in something of a rarity for this sort of film, the trailer manages to restrain itself from giving away most of the plot. Support comes from Wes Bentley, Jennifer Carpenter and Sebastian Stan, while Brazilian director Heitor Dahlia is behind the camera.

Gone is released in UK cinemas on 24 February 2012.
