BurgerTime makes a triumphant return in HD remake

Games like Pac-Man, Mario Bros and Donkey Kong get all the glory when most people think of classic arcade games, but if you can actually remember arcades at all, odds are you have a soft spot in your heart for ol' BurgerTime as well.

The ESRB has released a rating summary of BurgerTime HD, which we assume will be a complete overhaul of the vintage game. The rating board has the publisher MonkeyPaw Games linked to the title. Here's the rating summary in its entirety, in which its "Comic Mischief" descriptor is explained:

"This is an action-platformer in which players assume the role of a small chef who must assemble giant hamburgers. Players must avoid 'cartoony' hazards (e.g., grill flames, spikes traps) and oversized enemies (e.g., carrots, apple cores, hot peppers) in each level. The chef blinks and falls off-screen when hit; enemies react to damage with a 'dizzying' effect."

Any game with "giant hamburgers" is worth a look. BurgerTime HD was tagged to PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. Whether it's a retail or downloadable game is still unknown, as is any sort of release date.

The only question left to ask is, will there be a commercial as awesome as the one for the Intellivision version?
