It’s been a long time coming, but the first trailer for Terrence Malick’s Tree Of Life has finally been released online.
Malick’s fifth film, and his first since 2005’s The New World, Tree Of Life looks set to continue the celebrated auteur’s romance with dreamy visuals and intimate human drama.
The story follows young Jack, who struggles between his parents’ two very different views of the world, unsure which is right.
When he grows up (and becomes Sean Penn), he feels adrift in the modern world.
Check out the trailer below…
A stunning melange of 2001: A Space Odyssey -hailing visuals and expansive, heart-searching drama, Tree Of Life looks every bit as epic as we had hoped.
After years of delays and hushed anticipation, Malick’s latest will finally open next year (27 May Stateside), and we for one are chomping at the bit for it.
Quite simply, nobody makes films like Malick does. Tree Of Life just jumped to the top of our 2011 must see list.
