After several decades of Star Wars, you'd think we would have covered almost every lightsaber design imaginable. Turns out that's wrong, though – and I was able to get an exclusive first look at the latest replica to grace the shelves for May 4th.
The Jedi Temple Guard Legacy Lightsaber isn't like many others I've seen… or at the very least, it stands out from the crowd. Unlike the hodgepodge nature of the original trilogy sabers or the prequels' clean-cut chrome laser swords, this Star Wars lightsaber replica feels as though it's been pinched from an art installation. Crucially, it's not like the version from Rebels we've already seen in the Disney parks that could give the best Star Wars toys a run for their money; it's more akin to the Clone Wars design with a near-completely golden hilt and incandescent teal sections that are highly unusual in a lightsaber. This comes with an in-universe display case, fitted with a plush interior to keep your replica safe.
Jedi Temple Guard Legacy Lightsaber Hilt
Release date: May 4, 2026
UK price: £370 at Disney Store
US price: App. $488 at Disney Store tbc
"Inspired by the Jedi Temple Guards, this intricately crafted LIGHTSABER hilt reflects the discipline and duty of those who protected the sacred halls of the Order. Its detailed design and premium metallic finish evoke the ceremonial weapons carried in silent service of the Force. Featuring light-up elements powered by included batteries, and presented with protective interior padding, it’s a distinguished collectible for those aligned with the light side."
Two of these attached to a central grip would form the Jedi Temple Guard's iconic double-bladed weapon, as seen from Ahsoka's trial toward the end of the series. While only one hilt is included in each Jedi Temple Guard Legacy Lightsaber pack, I don't suppose there's anything to stop you grabbing two and combining them.

There's a refined elegance to it with a leaf-like emitter that evokes plant-life, and when combined with the dojo-esque surroundings we saw for the Jedi Temple Guard in Rebels, it brings something like Japanese Zen gardens to mind for me.

When I went hands on with this collectible at Disney HQ in London, it matched other Legacy lightsabers and felt incredibly sturdy – this thing is made of metal, so feels the part. It also goes very nicely with the Jedi Temple Guard Mask we were able to exclusively reveal earlier today, so the two make a nice pair on display together.
Both will go on sale this May 4th at the Disney Store, so keep an eye out for them then!
For other collectibles worth of a Jedi, why not check out the best toys or the best Lego sets? There's loads from a galaxy far, far away in both of those guides.

I've been writing about games in one form or another since 2012, but these days you'll find me managing GamesRadar+'s tabletop gaming and toy coverage (I spend my time here handling everything from board game reviews to the latest Lego news). I've also been obsessed with Warhammer since the 1990s, and love nothing more than running tabletop RPGs like D&D as a Dungeon Master.
