Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play, open-world RPG you should have on your radar. There's a lot to cover when discussing Tower of Fantasy - there's an immersive open world, a fully customizable avatar as well as "simulacrum" characters that offer unique weaponry, intense combat, and rich solo and co-op play. There are PvP events raids, dungeons, hidden puzzles, and much more, all of which will be available for PC, iPhone, and Android users for free. Yes, you read that right.
Tower of Fantasy begins by letting you customize your own character known as the Wanderer, who has been tasked with helping brother and sister Zeke and Shirli. Humanity discovered a powerful energy on Aida called Omnium, but attempts to contain it caused a catastrophic disaster on the planet, and you need to help restore order. You can freely explore this lush and intriguing place by swimming, jetpacking, or motorcycling around the planet - and you'll want to, as there are several different regions that are all beautifully diverse and full of interesting new enemies.
Customization is pretty extensive, from body type, hair, face, and more - but it's the simulacrum characters and their weapons that you'll collect that will make your combat experience wholly your own. Each character has their own unique weapon (including an ax, grenade launcher, ring blade, staff, greatsword, and more) that will drastically change your gameplay style, and since you can carry three weapons at once you can easily swap between them depending on what kind of challenging monsters or players you're up against. And if you time it right, you can execute a perfect dodge, which will freeze time and let you build up a gauge to pull off extra-powerful weapon attacks. The combat is where Tower of Fantasy really stands out from other MMO RPGs, as it's fast-paced and a ton of fun, and offers much more variety.
You can explore all of Aida solo, but there are plenty of opportunities to link up with friends to take exploration a step further. You can join guilds to find players to help you take down challenging bosses, complete raids, or get through difficult dungeons. And if gameplay feedback from China (where Tower of Fantasy has been available for some time) is any indication, expect a ton of cool events to keep players consistently interested.
