Top 7: Repeat offenders

Thugs
After all the imaginative enemy designs we've seen, most games seem to come down to the most notorious yet commonplace aggressor of all. Human beings. From the psychopaths of Condemned to the gangs of GTA, they range from the criminally insane to the just plain criminal.

Of course, it gives us a more recognisable foe to fight, although the more we splatter them, the more our games' age rating increases too. While Manhunt 2 may have pushed the boundaries as far as the censors are willing to go for the time being, everything under that seems fair play. Occasionally we do wish our foes had more personality. And just why are there always ten armed men hiding behind small walls anyway? Were they waiting for weeks just in case we swung by? Most odd. Still, games just wouldn't be the same without 'em.
