Jan 11, 2008
SCi, parent company of Eidos, has called off takeover talks and revealed it'll make a loss for the 2008 fiscal year.
The London-based firm didn't believe the company would be sold for its full value at the current time and called off talks after failing to receive a formal offer.
"The board no longer believes that a sale of the company for its full value is likely to be achieved at the current time and has reached the view that it is not in the company's or its shareholders' interests to prolong these discussions further," read a statement.
The reported loss is partly down to the shifting of four titles back to Q4. These include Tomb Raider: Underworld, which is now being primed for Christmas 2008. See the latest on Larahere.
