The Muppets have released a new parody trailer, this time lampooning upcoming fantasy smash The Hunger Games .
That’s right, despite only just making their way out of cinemas, the Muppets have a DVD to promote, and they’re returning to the spoof formula that proved so popular in the run up to the film’s initial release.
Granted, this latest parody probably isn’t the most inspired teaser we’ve seen from our furry friends, but we can’t resist a bit of Muppert clowning, even when they’re not firing on all cylinders.

Ah, those crazy Muppets… is there no film they won’t skewer? Well we say “skewer”, but perhaps “refer to tangentially” might be a more fitting expression…
The new trailer comes hot on the heels of Jason Segel’s announcement that a Muppets sequel is in the pipeline, but that he won’t be starring for a second time. “My goal was to bring the Muppets back,” said the star. “I did what I set out to do, and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects!”
In any case, we can probably expect a few more of these before the DVD makes its way to the shelves. A Muppets take on Prometheus ? Or a forward look to The Dark Frog Rises ? We wouldn’t put it past them…
