The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has released a huge new banner which looks as though it should appear on a curled-up piece of parchment rather than your common or garden billboard!
A tableaux of various scenes from the film, the new banner gives us a good impression of some of the trials and tribulations Bilbo and the company of dwarves will encounter on their journey, including the trolls' camp, Gollum's cave and a burning forest full of wolves.
There's also a first look at the character of Beorn, a shapeshifter who grants the company shelter during their journey through Mirkwood. You can spot him conversing with Gandalf in his typical form of a sizeable black bear.
There's rather a lot to take in, but the sheer size and scale of this latest banner does a good job of evoking the epic feel of Peter Jackson's Middle-earth filmmaking. From the looks of things, it should more than live up to the existing trilogy.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will open in the UK on 14 December 2012. In the meantime, you can squint at the new banner below, or head over to EW to see a bigger version.
