XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage, which features the return of Rob Cohen and Vin Diesel to the franchise, may end up written by Terminator Salvation scribes Michael Ferris and John Brancato.
While their pitch for the new movie is still tightly under wraps, Variety reports that they are busy negotiating to scribble the film, which will feature Vin Diesel playing the apparently not-dead Cage.
The writing team have also worked on Surrogates, for T3 director Jonathan Mostow, and with Sony pushing to get the new XXX film into high gear, we’re sure the deal will be locked soon.
Robotech
In other studio writing assignment news, Spider-Man 2 and Mummy 3 co-writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have nabbed the assignment to rewrite Robotech for Warners, according to The Hollywood Reporter .
Working from Lawrence Kasdan’s first draft, the pair will pen the story of mankind developing giant robots from a crashed alien ship, and then deploying the mega mechs against an extraterrestrial invasion force.
