Riz Ahmed says Rogue One is a little bit different to the other Star Wars movies

One of the more anticipated films of 2016 is undoubtedly Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and with the film still 10 months away there is understandably plenty of information we don't know yet. Thankfully Riz Ahmed was on hand to tease the film on the red carpet of the BAFTAs on Sunday evening, and the actor told HeyUGuys that Rogue One will be a "fresh pair of eyes on a familiar world".

Check out the interview below (and skip to 2:16 for the Star Wars talk)...

John Boyega won the EE Rising Star award on the night for his performance in The Force Awakens, and in the interview Ahmed also talks about how the Star Wars franchise is ahead of the game when it comes to the issue of diversity. "I wouldn't even call it diversity. I'd call it honesty. It's about aligning our films with society and the times that we're living in".

The cast of Rogue One is brimming with both quality and variety, and hopefully we'll get to see them in action in a trailer soon.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to open in UK and US cinemas on December 16, 2016.
