Saving Santa review

If a lump of coal isn't available...

“Once something is done, it cannot be undone!” declares Father Christmas in Saving Santa , an amateurish cartoon that’ll have you fervently hoping the opposite.

The Hobbit star Martin Freeman diversifies as elf hero Bernard, a lowly shoveller of reindeer shit whose dreams of being an inventor expose Santa’s North Pole enclave to Tim Curry’s vengeful mogul.

What’s an elf to do? Zip back in time of course, enabling us to relive this drab scenario sad infinitum.

Yes kids, it’s just what you wanted for Christmas – a 3D Groundhog turkey. Ho ho no.
