A bit of casting gossip for you this morning regarding the Amazing Spider-Man series, with ET Canada claiming that Sarah Gadon is about to join the franchise.

The rumour comes hot on the heels of news that Shailene Woodley has dropped out of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , with reports claiming she will not return to the series further down the track.
Could it be then that Gadon has been tapped as a potential replacement for Woodley in the role of Mary-Jane Watson? The timing would certainly seem to support that theory…
Hopefully we’ll find out more in the coming weeks. Directed by Marc Webb and co-starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
