A first look at Angie as the desperate wife of a kidnapped journo in Mighty Heart

Hounded since they got off the plane, chased by fans on motorbikes and smothered by a shield of 6ft security guards - finally, this week Angelina Jolie was able to leave the rollercoaster of Brangelina behind and start making movies again.

A Mighty Heart features ol’ canoe-lips as Mariane Pearl, the wife of kidnapped Wall Street Journal scribbler Danny Pearl, who was abducted in Karachi, Pakistan. Based on the book, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life And Death Of My Husband Danny Pearl, the flick is being helmed by Michael Winterbottom. The script will deal with Mr Pearl’s reasons for heading out to Pakistan, his abduction, his wife’s desperate attempts to track him down and the events leading up to his death.
