Grand Theft Auto is delayed to 2008
And a thousand shareholders welled up at once. Rockstar's parent company Take-Two must've been pretty down in the mouth by the end of August, as it was revealed that GTA IV had been delayed until 2008, sending Take-Two's shares into a sudden dive of 19%. In other news, thousands of gamers were also pretty narked off.
Resident Evil 5 is branded as racist
That's right - Resident Evil 5 promotes the "fearing and hating" of black people, according to an impassioned blog post by a woman in Africa. In fact, the entire Resident Evil series is racist. Now, racism is a difficult subject, and one not to be toyed with. But, come on. We've spent years killing zombies, from Racoon City's doomed denizens to the Spaniards of Resi 4. If there's anything that's blind to issues of colour, race or creed, it's Resident Evil's zombie viruses.
PSP outsells DS in Japan
It's not all over for PSP! The last time PSP outsold its touch-screen rival was back in 2005, but back then it was up against the chunk-o-rific original DS. Smashing the DS Lite - which always seems to be sold out - into second place in the Japanese hardware charts was a huge triumph for PSP, helped along by the launch of the PSP Slim and Final Fantasy Crisis Core. What was less amazing was that the DS Lite soon re-overtook PSP. The more things change...
