No WoW factor for Microsoft

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has confirmed that the massively multiplayer online game will not be released for Xbox 360, despite what many gamers might have expected.

"We do not have any plans to take WoW to Xbox 360," Blizzard told games trade publication MCV. "WoW is built as a PC gaming experience. Porting PC games to console often compromises games and we'd never allow the WoW gameplay experience to suffer."

There's a small consolation though - Blizzard added that it wouldn't rule out any console plans. "Nothing is in place at the moment, but we may be looking at something along those lines in the future."

But don't hold your breath, Xbox-owning RPG fans. Blizzard is notorious for making its fan base wait, and though it consistently delivers astoundingly good quality games, it never rushes anything. Just ask any PC gamer still waiting for Diablo 3. Watch this webspace for updates.
