Metal Saga's overworld exploration is homage to older titles. You'll find plenty of helpful items if you go around and search every box and cabinet. Who needs stores when you can find half the equipment this way? For some reason, this simple yet compelling feature has been all but eliminated from today's RPGs. A fixed camera makes navigating populated areas a lot easier, and a PDA-esque menu system is very intuitive.
