After Edgar Wright's shock departure from Ant-Man last week , another Marvel property has been playing a round of musical chairs in the hooded form of Netflix series Daredevil .
THR reports that Drew Goddard, who was originally signed to direct the show's pilot episode and act as season-long showrunner, has left the project.
In a brief statement posted on its official website, Marvel announced that Goddard has left the show to focus solely on Sony's Amazing Spider-Man spin-off, Sinister Six .
Marvel also announced a replacement showrunner in the form of Goddard's former Buffy colleague Steven S. DeKnight, who will now oversee all 13 episodes of the show's first season.
Goddard, who penned the first two episodes of the series, will remain attached as an executive producer only.
Though we're sad to see Goddard go, DeKnight was easily one of the best writers on shows like Buffy, Angel and Firefly , with a confident grip on the humour and dark themes that permeated those titles. He feels like a perfect fit for 'the Man Without Fear'.
Daredevil will air exclusively on Netflix in 2015, and is just one of the streaming service's upcoming Marvel shows alongside Iron Fist , Luke Cage , Jessica Jones and The Defenders .
