Griefs of infamy
1) Ultimate carpentry
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_online
The first major MMO is also thought to be the site of the first ever act of griefing. Ultima Online had a superb exploit where a player could build indestructible furniture around another player, trapping them in a prison of wardrobes and chairs. Forever.
2) The WoW funeral crashers
www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHJVolaC8pw
Possibly the most infamous act of griefing of all time took place after a horde player named Feyijin died of a stroke. An in-game funeral was held for her, but someone made the extremely foolish decision to carry it out in a PvP-enabled area. The griefing was sadly inevitable. A rival guild, Serenity Now, came in, and, well, played the game. The mourners had put down their weapons for the ceremony and were easy targets.
