Black Myth: Wukong is taking another Journey to the West as it moves from game screens to the global stage
Black Myth: Wukong in concert is taking the Destined One to Hollywood
Black Myth: Wukong is taking a major step from video game to cultural phenomenon this year, with the game embarking on another Journey to the West through its global concert tour.
The Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert Tour has already played in China across 19 cities, but on July 7, 2026, the game's stunning music will arrive in North America for the first time with a show at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
The concert features selected in-game music that intertwines live orchestration with Chinese folk music, creating an experience that transports listeners straight into the Destined One's journey.
It's a huge step for the critically acclaimed Chinese AAA title, which won two awards at the 2024 Game Awards (Best Action Game and the Player's Voice Award) and sold an incredible 10 million copies across all platforms within four days of launch. It's a clear sign of Black Myth's global IP evolution, along with the announcement of the next game in the series, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, in August last year.
Released in 2024, Black Myth: Wukong tells the story of the Destined One, a young monkey who's tasked with recovering the shattered relics of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, in an attempt to resurrect him.
The narrative acts almost as an unofficial sequel to the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West, which now mirrors the game taking its own journey from east to west as the game evolves into a new phase on the cultural landscape.
With LA being the first stop of the Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert Tour, the game's stunning music and, with it, its cultural heritage will be brought to the world's largest entertainment centre. The Destined One is coming to Hollywood!
And then, on July 12, the journey will take the game's score to New York's iconic Carnegie Hall, another cultural and artistic destination that allows the game to reach audiences beyond its gameplay.
Tickets are still available for both the Peacock Theatre in LA on July 7 and Carnegie Hall in New York on July 12, complete with different pricing tiers, each offering special gifts for fans of the game and Chinese music more widely.
It's the perfect way to celebrate the Black Myth IP moving beyond a video game, so grab a ticket while you can.
