Spookily familiar times for the release of this potent doc on the 1974 kidnapping of newspaper heiress Patty Hearst. Back then, the US was reeling in the aftermath of an unpopular war and divided over the re-election of a hawkish President.

After the pointless murder of a college professor, they swiped Hearst and demanded a ransom from her famously rich dad.
