Thursday 3 August 2006
The panel for the 2006 Golden Joystick Awards has announced the shortlists for the 16 prize categories that gamers will be able to vote for in the months leading up to the November awards show.
The 2006 Golden Joystick Awards are for games released between 1 August 2005 and the 31 July 2006, a period which saw some amazing handheld games released, which is reflected in the shortlists with games such as Mario Kart DS and GTA Liberty City Stories featuring heavily.
To get a good look at the shortlists in full and to start voting for your favourites, log on to www.goldenjoysticks.co.uk. And while you're there, check out the list for the Girls' Choice Award and try to figure out what the point of it is... and why it includes both 50 Cent: Bulletproof and Super Princess Peach.
