Gears of War 3 VGA announcement 'not what you're expecting'
Cliff Bleszinski announces his excitement over Epic's upcoming announcement
In a new video on GameTrailers, Cliff Bleszinski teases Epic's upcoming reveal of new Gears of War 3 gameplay footage at Spike's Video Game Awards on December 11.
"We'll be showing off some new Gears of War gameplay... it's not what you're expecting," says Bleszinski from his cushy announcin' stuff chair. Plus, according to the voiceover, the impending announcement will "have everyone talking."
Though actually, neither Cliff, nor the baritone voiceover, nor the overlaid text, say "Gears of War 3." So maybe the gameplay is from Gears of War 4. But probably not.
As Spike's Video Game Awards are a highly respected institution, they hardly need big exclusive announcements to increase viewership. But if reveals like Epic's are going to be thrown into the traditionally understated, sophisticated event, it's just icing on the cake, right? Right.
We'll be back with more sarcasm once we see the announcement that this announcement claims will have us talking, which it probably will, as this announcement about the announcement already has us talking about the announcement, which hasn't evenbeen announced yet.
So what do you think? Is it going multi-platform? 3D? Introducing Kinect functionality even though we've been assured it isn't? Or, and this is a long-shot, are we going to see some gameplay footage from a game about killing aliens? We'll find out on the 11th.
