Check out the first major look at Exterminauts, the blue-collar co-op alien shooter coming to all platforms in 2027
I work hard for the money
We just got our first proper look at Exterminauts, the newly-revealed third-person co-op alien shooter, which showed off several minutes of gameplay footage and interviews with the developers, Behaviour Interactive during the Future Games Show.
At first glance looking like a flashy combination of Helldivers 2, The Outer Worlds, Factorio, and Lethal Company, Exterminauts is described by Creative Director Vincent Regimbald as "a third person co-op PvE shooter, where you're part of a blue collar whose job is to repair and exterminate."

Release date: TBC 2027
A brand new co-op third-person PvE shooter that uses inventive gadgets and weaponized power tools to exterminate the alien threats.
Basically, it's all about running over science fiction oil rigs and fracking platforms, repairing and maintaining these huge facilities while also trying to hold back hordes of angry alien wildlife. There's big splashy superweapons, ziplines and huge amounts of weird alien lifeforms, leading to "frenetic action" where multiple players team up to try and keep things running in matches that will supposedly last between twenty and forty minutes. You'll pick missions, land at the marked location, and have to keep the facility running through a mixture of gunplay and coordinated factory work, hopefully not getting torn to pieces by angry Rick and Morty animations in the process.
Considering the current boom that co-op games are going through, it looks like Exterminauts may be one to keep an eye on. The game is planned for release in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, with the developers promising more information about the game throughout 2026.
