Arc Raiders With a View quest walkthrough and guide
You need to find a Rotary Encoder and Ion Sputter to complete the quest "With a View"
The With a View quest from the Headwinds update of Arc Raiders tasks players with finding a Rotary Encoder, using it in a Stella Montis Control Room, and then delivering an Ion Sputter to Shani. The toughest part of it all is finding the two items themselves.
While the Rotary Encoder is Rare, the Ion Sputter is of Epic rarity, and you’ll be racing against time and other players as you try to find these items. To make the mission easier for you, here’s a guide to completing the With a View quest in Arc Raiders.
How to complete With a View in Arc Raiders
These are the main tasks players must complete to finish the With a View quest in Arc Raiders:
- Obtain a Rotary Encoder
- Visit any of the Control Rooms near the Assembly Line
- Use the Rotary Encoder to activate the server switch
- Interact with a nearby computer to help identify the correct paths
- Deliver an Ion Sputter to Shani
I recommend that you try to find both the Ion Sputter and the Rotary Encoder before completing tasks two to four, so you won’t have to go into the Arc Raiders Stella Montis map more times than you already have. Also, once you’re done using the Rotary Encoder, you should pass it along to another person who needs it. You can still claim your reward even if you don’t bring the Rotary Encoder back with you, and they’re tough to find, so the person you give it to will be grateful for your generosity.
Rotary Encoder location
A Rotary Encoder can be found only on Stella Montis. It’s a Rare Exodus item, so it will likely show up in areas like Assembly and Business Center. That doesn’t mean that it won’t also appear in other areas, so make sure to also check areas with high-tier loot, such as Medical Research, Assembly Workshops, and the Lobby.
These won’t just be lying out in the open. Remember to check shelves, drawers, and any breachable spot for the Rotary Encoder. Feel free to also ask around from your fellow Raiders; you’ll likely get someone to help you if they’ve already completed the quest.
Where to find the Control Rooms
Once you get your hands on a Rotary Encoder, head toward the Assembly Workshops above the Assembly. There will be stairwells heading up to offices, so walk up and head inside to find either of the two rooms where you can use the Rotary Encoder.
In both Control Rooms, there will be a bright yellow server switch. Interact to activate, and then you’ll have one more task to complete.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
In the same room, head over to one of the computers. There should be an area to interact with, so activate the nearby computer to get the final step of the quest.
Ion Sputter location
The Ion Sputter may be tougher to find since it’s of Epic rarity. It’s also an Exodus item, so you will find it in the same locations as the Rotary Encoder. Check the Exodus areas like Assembly and Business Center, but also don’t miss other areas like Medical Research.
At the beginning of a match, you’ll most likely want to spawn near Assembly or Medical Research. As soon as a game starts, other raiders will be searching high and low in Stella Montis, so it’s a race against other players. Once again, there’s no shame in asking other players for help, especially if you have another item to trade them.
After that’s all done, you can head back to Speranza to claim your rewards, including one of the Arc Raiders Augments.
