Survival game Forever Skies has appeared at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase with a double whammy – not only have we got a look at its upcoming expansion, but we know now when it's heading to Xbox.
The short-but-sweet trailer gives us a good vibe of what the game and the upcoming update – called The Final Echoes – is all about. The world is coming to an end, and you're going to need to build a spaceship to survive it.
That's not the only news we got, though. We now know that Forever Skies comes to Xbox on July 27, 2026. You can pre-order now, and don't worry – The Final Echoes update will be included on day one.

As the name might imply, The Final Echoes update is the last of three 'echoes' themed updates. So far, these free updates have introduced more free gameplay content alongside community-requested tweaks.
As for the game at the core, Forever Skies is a first-person survival game where you brave a post-apocalyptic version of Earth that's been ecologically ruined. You can play solo, but you can also bring three friends along to build, upgrade, and fly a high-tech airship. The goal is to find a cure to save humanity, and you'll have to scavenge resources and craft tools while surviving whatever you come across on the surface.
