Piece a crumbling spaceship back together in isometric sci-fi tactics game AstroTechs, available to wishlist on Steam now
Can you solve the central mystery of why this spaceship fell off its charted course?
The Future Games Show's Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX has given us a good look at a promising-looking isometric sci-fi tactics game called AstroTechs, where you try and put a crumbling spaceship back together.
The trailer itself serves up a glimpse of gameplay, where our character has to get inventive while completing their tasks – such as breaking some nearby glass to suck some enemies out into space.

That small interaction touches upon AstroTechs's wider pitch. Moment-to-moment gameplay sees you travelling through the dark and damaged halls of a spaceship to carry out critical repairs. In the midst of all of that, you'll use abilities to outlast and outgun everything that gets in your way. Do be careful, though, as a misplaced bullet might make the task of repairing the broken vessel a larger one than it needs to be.
Between the fire fights, you'll be required to do some intel gathering to figure out what got everyone into this mess in the first place. Part of doing that is coming across fellow AstroTechs who will share everything they know, before you put them back to work – be that repairing critical systems or giving you some back up. As you seek to find out why the ship has been rerouted from its original course, you'll also come across crew members you can take to safety.
There are other modes you can check out, too. Alongside the main Defense Mode, you can also try a Horde Mode that sees you deal with waves of enemies while trying to repair critical systems.

I joined GamesRadar+ in May 2022 following stints at PCGamesN and PocketGamer.Biz, with some freelance for Kotaku UK, RockPaperShotgun, and VG24/7 thrown in for good measure. When I'm not running the news team on the games side, you'll find me putting News Editor duties to one side to play the hottest JRPG of 20 years ago or pillaging the depths of Final Fantasy 14 for a swanky new cloak – the more colourful, the better.
