Supermarket sim Discounty opens its doors tomorrow but not before teasing some strange stuff going on downtown

Supermarket simulator Discounty is dropping tomorrow, August 21, on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch, but that hasn't stopped developer Crinkle Cut Games from giving us one last trailer.

The launch trailer, which debuted at the Future Games Show, shows off plenty of what you can expect to achieve with your very own supermarket, aka the titular Discounty.

Set in the town of Blomkest, the Discounty store becomes quite the thriving hub of the community - or at least that's what some residents think. As the trailer suggests, it's not exactly all happy customers at Discounty.

Even from playing the Discounty demo, which is still available now, you really get a sense of the game's blend of immersive retail chaos, like running the cash register, restocking the shelves, ordering stock, and boosting your sales.

But there's also this glorious undercurrent of something more sinister lurking in the dark corners of Blomkest. From the fish monopoly down at the docks and being forced to sell off questionable holiday-seasoned fish sticks, to what the heck happened in the woods, and whoever that shadowy figure is in the trailer.

You'll be able to find out more for yourself about the mysteries of Discounty and beyond when the game launches tomorrow on PS5, PC, Xbox Series X, and Switch. You can wishlist it now on Steam as a reminder too.
