BPM: Bitcrushed pixelates the rhythmic rock-and-roll action of roguelike FPS BPM: Bullets Per Minute for another high tempo genre mashup
BPM: Bitcrushed still has the same rhythmic shooter action but in a new format

From the creators of 2020's BPM: Bullets Per Minute, BPM: Bitcrushed is a two-dimensional spiritual successor, reformatting the roguelike FPS into a new retro-inspired dungeon-crawler, revealed at the Future Games Show at Gamescom.
Made by developer Awe Interactive and published by Kwalee, BPM: Bitcrushed is a top-down, pixel-art roguelike dungeon-crawler that uses the same rhythm-based mechanics as BPM: Bullets Per Minute – everything you do needs to be in time to the beat of the music, whether that's blasting enemies, reloading, jumping, and evading attacks.
Dungeons are procedurally generated, featuring a mix of verdant forest terrain and gloomy, candle-lit castles, but all feature a whole host of instruments of destruction to bash enemies with. The reveal trailer shows off spears, bows, machine guns, shotguns, revolvers, and even a golf club. Enemies will, of course, fight back with bullet-hell attacks of their own – just make sure you don't panic and stick to the beat.
Speaking of beats, BPM: Bitcrushed also lets you customize your battle tunes. While BPM: Bullets Per Minute also had customizable music, it required a bit of finagling with the game's files to get working. Now it looks like you'll be able to upload your own a bit more seamlessly and slay to the songs you want.
BPM: Bitcrushed is still a way off, with the trailer revealing that it'll launch in 2026, but there isn't a concrete date outside of that year. However, when it does come out, you'll be able to play it on PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
